Parent Education and Support

The Parent Education & Support Meeting is typically held once a month. The Meetings are focused on providing information of interest to parents of children at the EEU along with the opportunity to exchange ideas with others. Every year we have the "Parent Panel" which is made up of parents of students that have moved on from the EEU to the Seattle Public Schools. These parents share both their child's experience and their own, as well as sharing ideas on how to make a good transition. Others topics covered in the past have included Nutrition, Disabilty Trusts, City of Seattle Parks and Recreation Programs for Special Needs Youth, Toilet Training, Living with a Sibling with Special Needs, Coping with Holiday Stress, LifeSpan and many more. Childcare is provided for the Meetings.
